Norway: Mesta wins the contract for operation and maintainance of electrical installations for national roads & 21 tunnels in Buskerud

Mesta wins the contract, beating SET Elektro AS and Traftec.

The operating and maintenance contract for road electro that Mesta is now included with Statens vegvesen (the Norwegian Public Roads Administration), has a duration of five years and includes the national road network in Buskerud and E134 in Asker.

The contract has a value of NOK 198 million. It applies from September 1, 2025 and five years to come, with the possibility of another three years.

Lowest price and experience won

Mesta won the electrical contract in Buskerud at the lowest price in addition to documenting sufficient experience with the operation and maintenance of partly complicated electrical road systems.

- Mesta is a well -known player for Statens vegvesen, but wins this contract area for the first time. We want Mesta to succeed in the implementation of the new contract in a way that safeguards the builder's interests in the best possible way, says construction manager Tom Ferdinand Luther in Statens vegvesen.

The contents of the electrical contract

Over the next five years, Mesta will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the following electrical facilities along the main road network in Buskerud as well as E134 in Asker municipality:

 6000 bright spots outside the tunnel
 21 tunnels with electrical systems including cameras
 700 variable signs
 6 traffic signal systems
 11 weather stations
 58 traffic registration stations
 20 points for automatic traffic control
 1 bridge with electrical system
 9 picnic areas with electrical systems
