A very good post-mortem of Melamchi water tunnel in Napal. Although this article is is mainly on the fatal accident during hydrostatic tests which killed two tunnel inspectors after a faulty water gate broke open, it has many more information over what awaits the contractors (Nepalese or foreign) when they build tunnels in Nepal. During its construction, 10 ministers changed during this time and 24 executive chairmans responsible for this tunnel changed. Contractors fired by the government and new contractors took over  for construction of the Melamchi Water Tunnel. It took 20 years.
