A professor from Novosibirsk State University said the main bottleneck for the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) and the Trans Siberian Railway (Transsib) is the one track Severomuisky tunnel. Writes Regnum.

This is not new. Everybody know it. The construction project of the Severomuisky 2 tunnel was personal project of Russian businessman Dmitry Bosov, the creator and co-owner of the Sibanthracite group and Vostokugol management company. He wanted to double its coal production and transport it to east. He was planning to finance the construction of the Severomuisky 2 tunnel. But 5 months ago he suicided after the detention of the businessman Anatoly Bykov in Krasnoyarsk who was also a participant of "Aliminum wars" in 90s.
