The granite boulders armoring the manmade islands make the immersed tunnels impossible at Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

I think this is funny. The construction of a new tube at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is 2 years delayed because of the granite boulders placed there while constructing the manmade islands.

The good news is, these boulders make it impossible to use immersed tunnel solution and instead they will most likely need to use TBM to bore through them.
