The Višňové highway Tunnel built by Skanska will not be operational in 2023 as planned, due to problems, reports The Slovak Spectator.

Skanska had signed a contract with National Highway Authority of the Slovak Republic to build a highway in Višňové, northern Slovakia. The contract is worth EUR 255M. The construction of the 13.5-kilometer section between Lietavská Lúčka – Višňové – Dubná Skala, including a 7.5-kilometer-long tunnel and seven bridges, is financed by the European Regional Development Fund, OP Integrated Infrastructure 2014-2020 and the state budget. Construction start was April 2021 and completion was scheduled for December 2023.
