Romania Minister of Transport rejects feasibility study of Ploieşti-Braşov highway. Too long tunnels and 8 Million Euro too much!

    Bzb write The company which conduct feasibility study and design (Consitrans) proposal is too costly said the Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, said in a televised broadcast. He said the reason for high cost is too long tunnels.

    He said "When I became Minister of Transport, the situation I found as follows: Tender for the Feasibility Study and Technical Project, the duration of which is about 5 yearswas awarded. Routes discussed with with Consitrans. He said to come up with 8 billion euro cost for 100 km of highway with more than half of the route is tunnels".

    Consitrans tender is 30 months is for for the feasibility study and another 6 months for design.

    European Union will contribute for 85% to the cost.
