Bengaluru's Namma Metro tunnelling between Shivajinagar and Cantonment draws criticism after segments cracked and water leakeges appeared. Problem seem to be on large scale as 25% of the segments have reportedly cracked.
Making matters worse, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has reportedly played down the segment cracks saying that "construction challenges are being addressed".
An investigation is on the way to find out if it is a design problem or poor workmanship by the contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
Larsen & Toubro faces another criticism for its level of work: Water leakes in the Singoli-Bhatwari hydroelectric power plant tunnel in Rudraprayag may lead to disaster.
